Quality of Death - Final Notice V0.3.4
Welcome or Welcome Back!
In today's update, the big treat I've got is the deckbuilder now supports new filtering methods (which was surprisingly difficult to do by the way, maybe I'm just an idiot), a fix regarding status-effected cards moving from zone to zone and a rumbling of far future updates that I'm doing now because I can see this only becoming more annoying to implement if I waited. (It was really annoying).
New Deckbuilder Filters!
You can now filter the deckbuilder with cost: or cost= or cost (then a term) or req: and so on and so forth with all the operators (except >= and the combination operators cause I'm going to be real I forgot they existed) and let me tell ya this was SUCH a pain. I'd gotten some feedback from playtesters saying that the deckbuilder needed better filtering options because it wasn't really feasible to outright remember card names, I've talked about this before when referring to having to change placeholder images. The search can still search by description, but wording on descriptions isn't always standardised (working on it!) so it can sometimes be a little difficult to find what you're looking for, or if you're just "looking" then it's difficult to find all the cards below a certain requirement or cost to fill out your curve well.
Ideally, this fixes that issue and allows for tighter deckbuilding due to mortis curve being easier to plan out. Let me know how you find it and, for the record, I know Volatile Transmutation seems to now breach it's card border specifically when searched, and I will fix it eventually, but something tickled me about it, I don't know what, so it's there for now.
Status Zone Fixes
Previously, if you had a card that had a status, cleansed that status, let's say played that card then added that card from your discard pile back to your hand some how, the card would magically get the status you cleansed back. Hadn't actually noticed this or had it reported until I was playtesting the upcoming Zeus bossfight for 0.4.0, but I've fixed it anyway. Shouldn't be an issue and to anyone that did find this issue to take place:
A) My bad.
B) Tell me next time!
"Far Future Updates"?
There's been a refactor behind the scenes of how decks and cards are saved when you create a deck to allow for more robust options - namely alternate card arts, and possible cosmetics down the line. These cosmetics are planned for 0.4.5, but I did the refactor now because doing it later would've only been a pain in my ass.
This shouldn't really impact anything, I did make sure legacy decks still work fine with the new system and are converted to the new system when you load, but if anything does go wrong please make sure you leave a comment on the itch page and report it, helps a tonne. Also, I figure I should probably mention regarding cosmetics...
No Microtransactions.
None of these cosmetics will cost you anything, I'm not making microtransactions for them, they're just going to be unlockable side content that's in the game and gives you something to shoot for. I do want to remind that when the game hits feature complete, it will be released on steam into early access and will cost money at that point, but for now, in the demo (and I suppose forever) I don't intend to do microtransactions. I think there's enough games with 'em.
